Our History & Purpose
Founded in 2010 by Evelyn Oberleiter and Günther Reifer, Terra Institute was born from a deep conviction: that economy, community, and ecology must thrive together. Inspired by their transformative experience at Sekem in Egypt, they envisioned a consultancy dedicated to reconciling economic success with environmental and social responsibility. Today, Terra is internationally recognized for its expertise in sustainability strategy, climate and CO₂, circular economy, supply chains, and education for sustainable development. Our purpose remains clear: to drive systemic change and empower companies to be part of the solution.
