MISTER SPEX – SUSTAINABILITY WITH A SYSTEM
AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO RESPONSIBILITY, DIALOGUE, AND IMPACT ALONG THE VALUE CHAIN
The sustainability journey of Mister Spex in collaboration with Terra demonstrates a forward-looking approach to integrating environmental and social responsibility into corporate strategy, with a strong focus on innovation and thoroughness.
A central component of this journey was the comprehensive double materiality analysis, which considers sustainability topics from two important perspectives: financial materiality, meaning the impact on the company’s financial performance, and impact materiality, meaning the effects on the environment and society. This innovative process utilized system mapping techniques to visualize the value chain and key stakeholders, in order to identify dependencies and potential for improvement.
Using visual representations of the value chain, of impacts, risks, and opportunities in a broader context, Mister Spex gained a comprehensive understanding of its sustainability challenges—and a clear roadmap for addressing them.

CHALLENGES AND HOW SUCCESSFUL RESULTS WERE ACHIEVED
How do we ensure that different perspectives are considered in the process?
We supported Mister Spex in implementing a highly productive stakeholder engagement process. The company adopted a multi-stage dialogue strategy that included surveys, semi-structured interviews, and a stakeholder dashboard to centralize communication and track contributions. These measures ensured that diverse perspectives were not only heard but actively integrated into the prioritization of sustainability topics. The result: a closer, cooperative relationship and an ongoing constructive dialogue with key stakeholders.
How is successful implementation of the strategy achieved?
We worked on the design and establishment of an ESG structure, consisting of a “GreenTeam” and six specialized task forces, aligned with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)—a clear sign of Mister Spex’s commitment to precision and impact. This team worked closely with internal and external experts to create a strong sustainability framework that meets both regulatory requirements and the expectations of key stakeholders.
