ESG–Training
Responsible leadership through sustainable training

ESG – Training
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and other sustainability frameworks are becoming increasingly important for companies.
They provide a guiding framework for sustainable actions, ethical business practices, and responsible corporate governance. ESG aspects affect all areas of daily business and offer the opportunity to strengthen both the resilience and brand value of your company.
The consistent integration of ESG principles not only helps to secure competitiveness but also actively contributes to the transformation towards a more sustainable economy.
ESG training empowers employees to embed sustainability as an integral part of the corporate culture. It imparts knowledge about international frameworks such as CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and many more, as well as the ability to identify, assess, and incorporate ESG risks into decision-making processes. Furthermore, such training promotes corporate governance based on transparency, ethical responsibility, and good governance.
Legal Framework
Reporting on employee training in the area of ESG/sustainability is stipulated by ESRS S1-13 (“Own Workforce – Metrics on Education and Skill Development”). It therefore falls under the principle of double materiality and will become mandatory as part of a phased phase-in. Additionally, ESRS 2—regardless of the double materiality principle—requires companies to provide training for administrative, management, and supervisory bodies. This underscores the importance of ESG training not only for employees but also for leadership levels to effectively integrate sustainability into corporate strategy.
Note (as of August 1, 2025):
The omnibus simplification package adopted by the EU in February 2025 aims to simplify reporting obligations under CSRD and ESRS. In July 2025, a “quick-fix” delegated act followed, temporarily granting relief to companies in the first reporting wave (“Wave 1”, financial year 2024), for example, the option not to report certain information—such as expected financial impacts—for 2025 and 2026 yet. On July 31, 2025, EFRAG also published revised exposure drafts of the ESRS, which are open for public consultation until September 29, 2025. These drafts include a reduction and partial reclassification of data points—including potentially affected metrics in S1-13—into non-mandatory guidelines. The final version of the revised ESRS is expected in the first half of 2026.
